A very helpful refresher!

I am currently in my third year of chemical engineering and was recommended this book by a T.A. . I used the book to review concepts for a heat and mass transfer exam. I found it very helpful. The book highlights the essential concepts of each topic. I would recommend this book for upper level undergraduate students and graduate students to refresh their memory and get quick clarifications on the major concepts covered. My favourite part about the book is that unlike many other textbooks are not paragraphs of extremely word and hard to read material, instead it sounds more of like an explanation you would get from a peer or professor if asked to explain a concept. Great book!

More books of this model required

I have been asked by the authors to write a review and have the luxury of a chair and sunlight to comment on it.
I am very happy that the book demonstrates what the preface tries to accomplish. I hope the book will prompt peers and successors of Kripal, in the student community, in graduate programs and elsewhere in industry, to do the same.
The book definitely serves an audience, more than what the preface suggests. I would supplement the book with thoughtful youtube videos that illustrate these concepts
via experiments with a voice makeover. I am reminded of Alan Alda or Walter Levine. I have recommended the website www dot learncheme dot com to students to supplement in class discussions.
There are pebbles to point to the paragraph below and other pebbles that point to real classic books.
The schools of thought that really made a difference, wrote books that make the reader spend a lot of time with it, such as Morse and Feshbach, Margenau and Murphy and Schwinger. In context, the comparison could be any one of the books referenced by the author.
My comparison book in context is Chemical Engineering Design: Principles, Practice and Economics of Plant and Process Design, Gavin Towler and Ray Sinnott, Butterworth-Heineman (an imprint of Elsevier), 1st edition 2008, NewYork, NY, USA.
I do know that the 2nd edition was released in February 2012.
I suggest attempting one more along that line, if the authors have the time and/or motivate their peers to do the same.
Maybe through that, our thinking gets refined. Mine does, every time I read the books I quote.
If students improve using books, such as the one by the authors, its definitely a change in the right direction.
To enable improvement, we need more examples of these books, with student co-authors, from India.
This will hopefully demonstrate that there are serious students in India, contributing in many ways to educating their peers.
For definitely, the future is theirs.

Good place to revise all of undergrad chemical engg

I found this book very useful to revise the concepts of chemical engineering in a quick and concise manner. It has a wide variety of basic concepts and expressions covering the length and breadth of the field. Do make use of it to prepare before any job interview, candidacy examination, viva etc.
