Simply outstanding.

I have been dealing with the construction and decoration of our new home the last few months, but although I have tried everything, nothing seemed to work as it should! Until I found this book... I was tired of wasting time doing construction and it never seem to work the way I planned, everything seems to take the twice the time. I was absolutely exhausted and unmotivated to continue. But here the author does a great job compiling the most important principles of construction project management using a clear, solid, engaging narrative style. Go ahead and grab a copy. It's totally worth it!

A life-saver for both the homeowner

Although this book is directed just as much at project managers, I found it to be a real eye-opener as a homeowner. It's unfortunate that the construction industry, particularly as it relates to home building, has gotten a reputation for dishonesty or at least extreme time inefficiency. I think these things can be fixed in part by educating current and future homeowners on the basics of what is involved from the project manager's perspective. This book is a great first step in filling that gap in our knowledge.

A few good ideas but poorly written with lots of repetition

A few good ideas but poorly written with lots of repetition. Often confusing jumping from one idea to another. Gives you the basic ideas for construction management of your home renovation or building your new home, but you will need to know lots more to manage a construction project.
This book has hundreds of good reviews but I suggest you click on the reviewers name to see the other products they reviewed. It might surprise you to see that most reviewed the same products - almost none connected to construction. Also most reviewers only give 5 star reviews with the occasional 4 star to all their products. How strange that you have reviewers that all like the same products (from books about puppy training, to diets to cooking) and that every purchase is worthy of 5 stars?
I have read a number of construction books and this one is certainly not worthy of the reviews it gets. I was fortunate that I downloaded this book when it was offered for free. I would have been upset if I had paid the full price for the paper version!
